ஜனவரி 31, பிப்ரவரி 1 Cuckoo Naithaliam Fellowship செய்யும் இளைஞர்களுடன் உரையாடச் சென்றேன். சிங்காரப்பேட்டையில் இருந்து புளியனூர் செல்லும் ஒத்தையடி மண்பாதையின் இரு பக்கங்களிலும் இலையே தெரியாத அளவில் பூக்கள் பூத்துக் குலுங்கும் மாமரங்களைக் கடந்து பயணித்தபோது மனதிற்குள் ஒரு பெரிய கேள்வி எழுந்தது.
பூக்கும் இத்தனை பூக்களும் காயாக மாறுகின்றனவா? அத்தனையும் காயாகிக் கனிந்தால் எப்படி இருக்கும்? பதிலும் கிடைத்தது. புத்தருக்கே ஞானம் வழங்கும் வல்லமை ஒரு மரத்திற்கு இருந்திருக்கும் போது தன்னை பற்றிய ஞானம் இல்லாமலா பிரிதொரு மரம் இருந்துவிடும்?! எந்தப் பூ காயாக உருமாறுவது? எந்தப் பூ காய்க்காமல் உதிருவது என்பதை மாமரம் தீர்மானிக்கிறது. அதற்குப் பிஞ்சிலேயே உதிர்பவை எவை? வெம்பிப் பயனற்றுப் போகப் போகுபவை எவை? என்று தெரியும். அதற்கேற்ற தேர்வை அம்மரம் செயல்படுத்துகிறது.
தன்னுள் கனியும் கனியின் சுவையையும் அம்மரம் ருசிப்பதில்லை. ஆனால் அடுத்தவர்கள் சுவைத்து மகிழ உதிர்க்க வேண்டியவற்றை உதிர்த்து அடுத்த நிலைக்கு உயரத் தகுந்தவற்றிற்கு அவ்வாய்ப்பைத் தருகிறது. அதுமட்டுமின்றி தன் தாங்கும் சக்தியையும் அது நன்கு உணர்ந்திருக்கிறது. தன் மீது கல் வீசுபவர்களுக்கும் தன் கனிந்த கனியையே பரிசாகத் தரும் இம்மாமரங்கள் பெரியதொரு பாடத்தையும் புகட்டியது. ஆம் பிறக்கும் அத்தனை மனிதர்களும் சமூகத்திற்குப் பயனுள்ளவர்களாக வாழ்கிறார்களா? அப்படியான உலகம் அமையப் பெற்றால் எப்படி இருக்கும்? மனிதன் தன்னைத் தகவமைத்துக் கொள்வதற்கு ஏற்பவே மனித வாழ்வு அமைகிறது. அதன் அடிப்படையிலேயே சமுதாயம் கட்டமைக்கப்படுகிறது.
காழ்ப்பையும், கசப்பையும், நஞ்சையும் தம் சொற்களாலும், எழுத்துக்களாலும் தந்து புறம் பேசுபவர்களுக்கான பரிசாக நாம் திருப்பித் தர நம் செயல்களை எப்படி சமன்படுத்தி கொள்வது? என்ற சிந்தனையை இப்பாடம் உரமேற்றியது. இந்த ஞானப் பாடத்தை மா மரங்கள் தருவதற்குள் குக்கூ நிலம் வந்தடைந்தேன். அது அடுத்த ஒரு சகலகலா சாலை. எங்கு நோக்கினும் இளைஞர் குழாம். ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஒரு சிரமதானம் மேற்கொள்ளும் இளம் காந்தியர்களாக வளம் வந்து கொண்டிருந்தனர். நைத்தாலியம் கல்வி முறை பாடத்திட்டம் வடிவமைப்பு உரையாடலில் எனக்கு முன் ஜே.கிருஷ்ணமூர்த்தி கல்விச் சிந்தனை, கல்விக் கொள்கை, பாடத்திட்ட முறை குறித்த தம் அனுபவங்களை திரு. குமரன் அவரது துணைவியர் திருமதி.விஜி இருவரும் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டனர்.
* குழந்தைகள் முழுமையான மனிதர்களாக வளரக்கூடிய சூழ்நிலையை கல்வி/ கல்விக் கூடங்கள் எப்படி உருவாக்க வேண்டும்.
* குழந்தைகளின் ஒட்டுமொத்த ஆளுமை வளர்ச்சியை எப்படி மேம்படுத்துவது
* தனிப்பட்ட சுதந்திரத்துடன் கல்வியை எப்படி தொடர்பு படுத்துவது
* எதையும் திணிப்பதன் மூலம் குழந்தைகளின் புத்திசாலித்தனத்தையும், ஆக்கபூர்வமான புரிதலையும் உண்டாக்குவது சாத்தியமல்ல என்பது போன்ற தம் கல்வி அனுபவங்களை எடுத்துரைத்தனர்.
* கல்வி மனித குலத்தின் மீதான ஆழ்ந்த அக்கறையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டிய அவசியம் சார்ந்தே தங்கள் சிபுமி பள்ளியில் கல்வி முறை இருப்பதைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டனர்.
இந்தப் பயனுள்ள உரையாடல் வெளிக்கான ஏற்பாடுகளை சிவராஜ் உடன் இணைந்து கௌஷிக், ரவி அப்பா, மீனாட்சி அம்மா, ஸ்டாலின் மேற்கொண்டிருந்தனர். அவர்களுடன் இணைந்து தங்கள் கருத்துக்களையும், பங்களிப்பையும் மனம் உவந்து குக்கூ நண்பர்கள் வழங்கினர். மிக அழகாகத் திட்டமிட்டு எளிமையாக ஆனால் எல்லா வசதிகளையும் உள்ளடக்கி ஒரு சிறு கிராம சூழலில் சிந்தனைக் களம் அமைத்துக் கொடுப்பது என்பது மிக அசாதாரணமானது. ஒருமித்த சிந்தனை, நோக்கம், செயல் கொண்டவர்களை கண்டடைந்து ஒன்றிணைப்பது மிகச் சவாலானது. அதனை மிக எளிதாக, இயல்பாக நடத்திக் காட்டினர். செயல் தளத்திற்கு தேவையான கருத்துக்களை பல்வேறு ஆளுமைகளின் அனுபவம் வாயிலாக சேகரித்து ஆவணப்படுத்தும் அற்புதக் கலையை மிகச் சிரத்தையாக மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர்.
ஒரு அரசின் கல்வித் துறை ஆற்ற வேண்டிய பணியை ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் இன்றி அமைதியாக ஆழமாக செயல்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
தேசிய அளவில் நடக்கவிருக்கும் நைத்தாலியம் கல்வி முறை மாநாட்டிற்கான அடிப்படைத் தயாரிப்புகள் மிகுந்த அர்த்தம் பொதிந்ததாக அமைய தங்களை முழு முனைப்புடன் ஈடுபடுத்தி வரும் இவர்களது கனவு நனவாக அவர்களுடன் கரம் கோர்க்கக் கிடைத்த இவ்வாய்ப்பு பெரிதினும் பெரிதாகக் கேட்ட வரமாகக் கருதி மகிழ்ந்தேன். இந்த இளைஞர்களுடனான எனது இரண்டு நாட்கள் என்னுள் புது ரத்தம் பாய்ச்சியது. மிகுந்த சக்தி ஊட்டப்பட்டு எனக்கான சமூகப் பொறுப்பை மனமேந்தி உற்சாகமுடன் செயல்பட ஊக்கம் அளித்தமைக்கு நன்றி.
The journey through the narrow dirt path from Singarapettai to Puliyanur had mango groves laden with blossoms, so that their leaves were barely visible. My mind was curious to know if all these blossoms turn into fruits. And what would it be like if all of them ripened into fruits? But I was surprised to realise, if a tree has the power to bestow enlightenment upon Buddha, would another tree lack its attributes? The tree decides which blossom will transform into fruit and which will wither and fall. It also knows which one to drop as unripe and which one to shrink and become unusable. The tree implements the appropriate selection process.
The tree does not taste the sweetness of the fruit that ripens within it. But it sheds what needs to be shed for others to relish, and gives the opportunity of reaching the next stage. Moreover, it is well aware of its own carrying capacity. These mango trees, which offer their ripe fruit as a gift even to those who throw stones at them. The tree teaches a great lesson. On the other hand, do all human beings born into this world live lives that are useful to society? What would it be like if such a world existed? Human life is shaped by how a person adapts themselves. Society is built on this. This lesson strengthened my thoughts to consider on how we should balance our actions in order to respond to those who spread malice, bitterness, and poison through their words. Before the mango trees could impart this wisdom, the land unfolded.
The land of all arts. Everywhere you look, there are groups of children. Every person was actively involved, like young Gandhi’s undertaking voluntary actions. In the discussion on the Naitalim education system and curriculum design, Kumaran and Viji shared their experiences regarding J. Krishnamurti’s educational philosophy, policies, and curriculum methods. They discussed how education and educational institutions should create an environment where children can grow into complete human beings and how to enhance the overall personality development of children, connecting education with individual freedom.
They explained their educational experiences, emphasising that it is not possible to foster children’s intelligence and creative understanding by imposing anything upon them. They shared that their educational system at the Shibumi school is based on the necessity of education being rooted in a deep concern for humanity. Kaushik, Ravindran, Meenakshi, and Stalin, along with Sivaraj, had made the arrangements for this fruitful discussion forum. The Cuckoo friends wholeheartedly contributed their ideas. It is extraordinary to organise beautifully and create a simple yet fully equipped intellectual space in some part of a small village. Finding people with shared thoughts, goals, and actions and bringing them together is very challenging.
They accomplished this with great ease.
They are delicately undertaking the wonderful art of collecting and documenting ideas which are necessary for the practical implementation of learning through the experiences of various personalities. They are quietly and profoundly carrying out the work that a government’s education department should be doing, without any fanfare. As they are wholeheartedly dedicating themselves to making the foundational preparations for the upcoming national-level Naitalim gathering a truly meaningful event.
